I know several of the top crappie pros use 12 lb mono or fluorocarbon mostly. I went ahead and ordered 12 lb flouro but might try 10 lb later.

I go between 10 and 12 pound test all the time. You have to trade off how easy it is to break off when snagged and how much your line will stretch.

Getting ready to try some Sufix 832 when it gets here tomorrow.
I have tried about all Brands and only use braid these days.
Mono just too much memory for me.

They only sell one line that is 100 percent fluorocarbon. Their hi-vis FC line is, as you say, FC coated. So one won’t get much more sinking with it than mono.

    Regards
