Agree with the go 12. I have a 10 and answered because you asked, but in hindsight, I'd go 12. If I wasn't wanting to purchase a new to me boat in the next few years, I'd go 16", despite what the nay sayers say. Eye strain is real. I don't care a thing about watching nature and enjoying the day otherwise, I can do that from my porch or at the park. I want the most efficient way I can look for the largest crappie in the lake, and attempt to catch it.

Thanks for that. I have always wished mine had another port. 2nd wish is dual card slots. One for active captain and one for my ultra east card

How old are your eyes? I started out with the 93sv and then upgraded to the 126. The larger screen made a large difference for me. I now have the 93 on the console and the 126 on the front of the boat.

On my previous boat I had the HB 15". I loved the screen size and so did my friends who fished with me. I would love to have the Garmin 15" but am unwilling to pay $5,000-$7000 for it.

My advice is get the biggest screen you can afford, if you are willing to spend that much for it.

Whatever you decide to go with, move it up closer to your eyes and then correct adjustments for technique such as sitting on brush, trees, bridge columns etc or sniping on the run.

It's not the numbers or the size, it's the time spent on the water!

If you are using it ONLY for scoping, I recommend the 1022 or 1222. I personally run Birds/Minnkota for mapping, spotlock, etc so I run the 1222 on a high rise mount from the Cornfield Crappie Guys just for scoping. Best of luck

Fellows I fished with one of our own Ultraslab yesterday, he has a 16 inch screen on his garmin. Man let me tell you that you can see lots more with the bigger screen. And many thanks to Ultraslab for the trip. Man there some great people on this forum, that’s willing to help you, and even take you and teach you. Thanks again Ultraslab.
Thanks Slab thanked you for this post
