Sides all that double what you paid will likely make you money anyway if you don't pay the shipping for sure . Wanted to sell them for about 20 and put nice rods in folks hands that maybe couldnt swing high end rod expenses .
Seen them fish for shrimp using some nice looking rods. Certainly interesting to watch

If someone were to do this with fairly high end Crappie rods, I'd be interested in at least one, maybe two. Instead of $20 rods that retail for $50, maybe $100 retail rods for $30 or $40? I have enough Crappie rods, I have enough Bass rods, I have enough Trout rods, but I have been trying to really narrow down what I've got and to increase the quality and I'm slowly getting there.

the squid rod thing is pretty nifty , they use a strange looking jig , if you ever ketched squid you would know why , you think a crappie comes off because of its paper lips , try some squid action , man does a regular hook rip thru them things .
I targeted the big red man eaters one time , the humbolts are the you know what on a rod and reel , they pull like a train and go both directions just as fast . I didn't have squid tackle though, we were sport tuna ketchn albacore in the 30 lb range with basically surf rods and heavy mono on big open faced reels with a circle hook and live sardines in the 12 inch range, and one of the first mates had to give me some advice on how to quit losing the darn things .
When they take the bait you can't really set the hook and you have to go real slow to the gaf , when they hit the deck it is like a horror movie as well ....
that there fluorescent light thing they do all over their body is surreal as them tentacles try to grab anything close to them , and then .....THEY spray that there black ink like a water fountain....and try to parrot bite whatever they can with then big beaks
its the stuff for sure , to ridiculous in the ketchn things WOW dept no doubt about it ....

sport tuna ketchn 200 miles off shore they shut down at dark thirsty and drink beer and eat .....
the capt. calls it blue water out there and you can see down in it forever ....
everyone left the deck and silly me was looking down in davey jones ez locker and could see some sharks ....
come to find out them sharks was actually humbolt squid ...
watching one of them come up and hit your live sardine was to be sure something you wont ever forget ...
the rocket up to it and then umbrella it and rocket back down with it ....
the first mate cleaning the deck got a lil excited over it and started coaching me how to ketch them after I ripped a few apart on the hook sets .
he apparently had some experience with them and we started loading the hold with them pretty quickly once I got the hang of it...
pretty large creatures and totally weird on deck ,will make you dance around some avoiding them there want to grab you for a closer look and a bite tentacles

then I wonder this about that , wonder if they run charters to target them big squid , we were off the baja coast area in mexico when we encountered them and ran out of san deigo .
sure were lots of "miltitary" water craft cruising way out there off shore , capt. said we had to follow mexican rules just in case we got boarded , but most of what I saw in the way of law enforcement looking rigs seemed to be USA ....
sure was fun , and it wasn't expensive , one thing for sure though , it wasn't a pleasure trip , we got an hour and half lecture about it being work and not play and when they called your number on the trolling rods , you best get up on deck and man your rod RIGHT NOW !
