Default Fishing rods delivered to home. Package handling.

I ordered a 9' Ugly Stik carbon crappie rod from Pure Fishing. Got an email that it was deliverd. Checked my porch camera. What would you expect to find when you get home?

I'd expect a tube for the rod. Just my 2 cents.

Pure fishing will refund you. They put smaller 2-4pc rods in a box with lots of padding and longer rods in tubes. They definitely dont ship with the ends sticking out.

But, its an ugly stick so im guessing no damage done.

It seems fine. This was yesterday. I inspected it as best I could. Nothing visible or felt. Since it's obvious that the box got crimped at that missing spot, I really honed in on that area of both pieces. And since it may have come out of the box and put back in upside down, I did that and really inspected that spot that now lined up wtih the open box end. Put the rod together and flexed it some. Then put the butt against the wall and pulled on the tip as a fish on the line would do, and didn't feel/hear/see anything suspect. Hope to test is soon on the water.

In the event of a nuclear war, two things will survive: cockroaches and Ugly Stiks. LOL

Any other brand, I would have expected it to be busted. That ugly stick will most likely be fine. If you don’t feel comfortable with it, send it back

Not many rods would survive that ride but the Ugly stick will take a lickin and keep on kickin.
