    I would add weight by using sandbags. They are cheap and if you have to toss them you want be out of much.

    Filling the live wells adds weight
    A large cooler with ice and drinks can be moved around to keep boats holes shot
    Additional batteries for TM and graphs is a easy weight gain
    Amateur Chaser of Those Thump Thumps to
    Raise Those Hand Kandys!

    What you’re talking about is adding ballast. Liquid ballast needs to be contained so it doesn’t get out of control, like by all getting on one side when the boat leans. Adding water is a bad idea.

    You need to read Capps and Coleman’s book on winning crappie secrets, they explain boat control from putting water in your boat to dragging chains and drift socks.hope this helps.
