This is a very good question! The display unit does processing as it relates to display output on the screen but is that all the display units do?

It would take a cable adapter to hook up the black box output to a monitor but it might hook up directly to the antenna jack on the back of a tv. I would need to research this to see what it would take to plug a monitor or tv directly into the black box output jack.

    Definitely an interesting question.

Thanks for that. I'm guessing he was using the Active Captain app. IF SO, then you can easily mirror to a smart TV. Now it makes sense that someone said it's possible with a 93SV, but there might be some lag.

I might have to try that. Would be interesting to see!

Don’t think it would work on my boat, I am usually to serious about catching fish than to want to watch tv, but if ga bulldogs are playing and I can fish and watch the game it might be all right.

It's not like the guys thill was talking about was watching tv. He was only using it strictly for mirroring his livescope too & it looked great. I'd like to have a small affordable sunlight readable tv setup like that for sure if it could be done easily with a 93 sv.

I found the video and watched it. He stated you had to have a gpsmap unit, which rules out the 93's and the 126 I own.

    Les,
Have you tried running Active Captain on your phone or iPad and then mirror the screen to your TV? That should be easy to do, but the big question is will there will be any lag?

I have a 93SV and am going to try it soon. We had rain, hail, snow and high winds today. Temps went from almost 50 last night to about 12 degrees now and it's supposed to drop to nearly zero tonight. The lakes around here are going to freeze solid if it stays around for long. Probably going to mess up our fishing.

Thanks for turning me onto Garmin Guru. It is going to take me forever to watch all his videos but the ones I watched yesterday and today were packed with good information.
