IMO ya can’t beat an old timer pocket knife.

A lot of good choices out there. I’d start by considering price point and then look at options from some reputable manufacturers. Kershaw, Buck, Benchmade, Spyderco, Gerber, SOG all make good quality knives.

As has been said look at price point…decide if it is important from where a knife is made. Many well known brands of knives are no longer made in USA. Old Timer…as many other knife makers…will have you think that their knives are made in USA when it is only the blade that is made in USA. The rest of the knife and assembly is in China. Even some German brands have done the same. Many Boker knives are now made in China. This is not necessarily a bad thing but you have to look at each knife on its own. I really like the BenchMade and Kershaw knives…but some Kershaw knives are now made in China. But easy to find ones that are fully made in USA. Best of luck in your search. Nothing like a good pocket knife.

    Regards

    Default pocket knife

I am a case fan. I have been carrying this mini trapper for 28+ years now. It has seen a fish scale or two through the years! It has been in my pocket every day since the day of purchase.

I carry a skeleton frame Gerber. I lose pocket knives regularly, so I bought 4 of them the last time I found some. My daddy used to say, a man's not fully dressed without a pocket knife.

I've carried a bunch of different pocket knives since I was a pre-teen (el cheapo China made ones). Still have 3 or 4 of them left, tucked away in a drawer. But what I've carried for the last several decades is a SOG Flash II (Christmas gift from my fishing/hunting bud, cjpar3)

An old 3blade Frontier (no origin stamp), a single blade Buck (Bill Dance signature), and a 2blade Buck (Wally Marshall signature + note from & signed by Wally on the box) are always close at hand when I'm home.
