Default The tale of 4 jigs

pouring down rain at lunch time yesterday .....WOOHOO .....
we need it bad here in Texas and of course I need to ketch crappie ....
so off I went to the little dock down the road , thought it would be poor with it being so overcast and weather changing fast.
no one but me around for sure and it was still as could be in the dock area, pretty low wind and rain just coming down in buckets . typically poor conditions for crappie in my opinion, but hey why not give it a go ...right
used 4 different jigs in 1/32 oz. 3 handties and one plastic, changed them as I dipped my jig to see if anything stood out as better than the rest . The fish were VERY soft touch in their takes and it was about as good as it gets ! Was very pleasantly surprised to just light them up .
So I had these 4 jigs with me and that was all I took and they all ketched fish pretty well with the one EXCEPTION !
The solid orange one just absolutely wore them OUT about 3 to 1 on takes and many times faster than the others to get bit !
we all know color don't matter , but to be sure go ahead and think that while I sling them like a windmill ......
    KABOOM is the word ya"ll
99 crappie and 3 bluegill in hand before I went back to work makes for a really tired thumb .....

    I didn't do it .....
2 of those are limits tackle jigs the j hook white and chart and the j hook orange and chart, 1 dollar each , the other was given to me by someone here and it is a sickle hook version 1/32 . that sickle hook version actually gave up on this visit at who knows how many hundreds of crappie and it's tail was about gone ,minus its tail it was not getting it done as the profile was just too small , so since I was short on bare jigs in my pocket I stripped it and put the plastic on it and that my friend is my story ...

Catching over a hundred crappie and gills during a rain storm and staying dry, don't get better than that. Must have been a long lunch break.

prolly stayed about 1.5 hours , not sure , nobody really asks me how long I will be gone or why I took a long break and to be sure I waited till the rain let up a bit , it was pouring for a long time right after I walked up ....
