That's nuts. They're practically trying to break the rod. LOL

If I owned ACC and somebody asked me to replace his broken rod, I would start off with a question: "Did you do something really stupid like locking down the drag and fishing braid?" LOL

i had a new wally marshall Speed shooter 7ft break on the first 1lb fish i caught, i called Midway gave them order number they sent me a shipping label new rod a week later, no questions asked about how or why it broke or was the drag too tight, ect. if i was ever asked that question was the drag too tight, not sure i would ever buy that brand again. same goes here if any of my 3 ACC rods ever broke under normal conditions and was asked if the drag was too tight, which i never do anyways. as far I feel ACC is doing well and handling customers fair. i ordered 3 rods 2 7ft and a 6.6 after a day of fishing, i called them and ask if i could exchange a 7 ft for another 6.6 ft. they sent me a 6.6 and i returned the 7ft shipping was paid by ACC both ways.

Thanks again to everyone that has provided some input. I was looking at the 7'6" or 8' dock shooting/spinning rods. Primary use would be to use as a slip bobber rod. Do any of you have experience with those and how that first guide design does with a bobber stop? It looks like it might be pretty small for a bobber stop to not get hung up on all the time.

I had the 8' ACC rod and while I liked the rod I did not like the guides. I gave it to my buddy. The 8' rod has the microwave guides on it. I think they are smaller and probably would give you a fit trying to use slip bobber. I would maybe consider ProAngler or Thumpcity rods. Both are comparable and have larger guides. If interested I can upload pics of each when I get home.

I'm a bit confused about your question. To my knowledge there is no such thing as a 7'6 or 8' dock shooter. The dock shooters I am familiar with are 6'5 or shorter. I like a 7ft rod for a slip bobber rig. I would think a micro guide would be a deal killer do to use of a bobber stop.

    The 7'6" & 8' rods I mentioned are listed under ACC's "dock shooting/spinning" category.

I don't have a ton of crappie rods like some of y'all. I do have one ACC, and it is a little too stiff for my taste. The last eye is a pretty big too, which isn't an issue, unless you ever want to use a slip bobber with a bead. I usually keep it rigged up as my "deeper water" rod. It's fine for a little heavier jig in deeper water. But, most of my crappie fishing has been done in shallower water with a 1/32 oz jig.

I have never used an ACC brand rod .. I would have to go take all the Tarps off my Boat to see what I use now. I put all my old rods away after I bought the first IM7 rod and went fishing the 10 footer... I went back where I got it and told them i wanted an 11 and 12 foot and Two days they were in my hands.. While Yll are breaking rods slinging Jigs,my rod held up to an 18 pound Cat that swollowed my jig

Their 8ft rod is perfect for casting....EXCEPT FOR THE GUIDES . Forget slip cork fishing. I wish they'd change them, and I'd love it again. It's not terrible if youre not using a leader, which I do.
