Yes it takes seemingly forever to get it flowing but once you do you got it made. One thing you can do is slightly squeeze it while pressing down on the wick. Of course wick side down, it's gravity feed.

No way! Sorry about that. But one other thing, you can also just press the wick down and wait for gravity to do it's thing.
