Here is another thread discussing them.

    https://www.crappie.com/crappie/pour...moon-jig-mold/

I’ve also heard them called weighted hook before. Tried finding a mold but most seem large or fit wrong hook. Hopefully some of this info helps. Might just have to buy from Jann’s Netcraft.

I have some of these with size 10 hooks. I just thread on a worm and throw them in bluegill infested waters. They are deadly with a slow steady retrieve using a tiny weighted float.

Gain,, exactly why I decided to dress them up a bit,,m because they work right out of the package,, plus they are easy to paint with powder coating.

I would guess I have powder painted close to 4000 soldered teardrop lures over the past 40 years. I learned the secrets from Jack Manda of Manda's Baits at Portage lakes in Akron Ohio. It was a great lure then and now. I used teardrops on soft water but a ton of people used them on Steelheads, Perch as well as ice fishing Bluegills up in Ohio while I lived there.

Found article talking about them. Skippers Moon Jigs.

    3. Skipper’s Moon Jig

A Skipper’s Moon Jig. Skipper Jigs

These handmade powder-coated jigs got their start in Wisconsin in the late 1980s, and they are now made in Northeast Florida. They come in a huge variety of colors, in 1/8- and 1/16-ounce sizes, with large-gap quality Mustad hooks that easily accommodate a minnow or soft plastic grub.
Skipper’s models have their roots in the ice fishing world, and they are among the most popular styles for panfishing on hard water. Moon jigs have an unusually smooth half-moon shape, which makes them especially well-suited to trolling. Thus they’re ideal for anglers either spider rigging or pulling lures.
Veteran crappie team tournament anglers Al and Alan Green are huge Moon Jig fans. They have scored well in numerous events pulling the lures in double rigs. Their favorite color is Buttercup. But the best lure hue varies a lot, even during the course of a day’s fishing. They’ll rig a wide range of Moon Jigs off multiple rods, making sure they cover the color spectrum from orange and chartreuse, to pink and white.
The Greens pull Moon Jigs with 6-pound-test line on long rods, using a long length of 4-pound fluorocarbon leader.

This is what you said my friend..."Dang,,,those are expensive,,,I’ve got a small container of them already, just wanted to keep some on hand in case folks wanted to buy some after I put my jig together,,,I hope maybe printalure can make me a mold,, thanks Y’all for helping with my search,,,,"

I tell you that you can make your own with solder, a shell, powder paint and a gold hook for under a quarter each. Go to You Tube and watch videos on soldering teardrops. You can get all the supplies you need at Fishing Lure Parts, Rod Building Supplies, Fly Tying Material, Fishing Hooks, Fishing Tackle | Jann’s Netcraft. These are different shells you can get Search results for "solder"

Here is a link if you just want the banana lure BANANA PANFISH JIGS 10 PACK, Lure Making | Jann's Netcraft

This is a 45 second tutorial on how to solder a jig.

I also have a few videos on my You Tube Channel about soldering ice jigs

Here is also a link to some threads here on c.com where this was discussed.

Very cool idea Ship,,,,wondering if that solder is alittle heavy like lead though,,,,want that jig to sink as fast as possible,,,maybe just make a mold somehow and use the lead I already have on hand….

We call them crappie spoons, they originated as ice fishing jigs. They are very effective fished vertically in winter. No ice here lol. Only ones I’ve seen are made by local guys in various colors and sizes.
