    Default Watersnake trolling motors

Anybody have quality info (good or bad) on Watersnake brand motors? Seem well priced for what you get.

I go by ratings or stars on Amazon. Watersnake is a buy by my scale. I can tell you the money I spent on my 2017 BT minn kota terrova was not worth it.....BUT the customer service was!!! You are not gonna get that from watersnake. But you might not need it.

I hope this spurs more replies to your question.

I have been researching the Watersnake myself. When the time comes, I plan on getting one.

Just my opinion, it’s about the customer service and availability of parts. I’m a Minn Kota guy, they’ve done well by me.

I put a 24 lb thrust Watersnake on my Hobie PA14 for trolling small lakes. Had it about six months now. Also have an older Minn Kota Terrova I can place on the bow when needed. Have had multiple Minn Kota over the years. For my purposes, the Minn Kota is quieter, but much heavier. I like the Watersnake and found it easy to modify, however, the build quality is not as good as the Minn Kota, but for the price I think it’s worth it. The one major issue I have with the little Watersnake is mechanical noise. When I approach a school of fish they scatter when within 25 feet. The plastic hull seems to magnify any sound from the trolling motor.

used the Watersnake yesterday. Ran well and often. love the controls. deploying and stowing was not an issue. I did have to practice what speed was best for adjusting position. Slower was better. The 54lb. thrust was awesome when wanting to move from dock to dock. I realize it is a little oversized for my little craft so it should do well for 16 to 16 foot boats. Still time Weill tell just how good.so far for the price it is a good buy.
