    Default Fool me once ,

Shame on you , fool me twice shame on me . This ketch phrase has been around a good long while . Now to be very sure it rings true in most situations and in some cases it might not be true , but more often than not, it tends to have value.
So I wandered the river yesterday and ketched fish , it was a great day to pitch a jig . The fall bite program has reared it's ugly head and once again the fish are cooperating with the ketchn venue in ample numbers to keep it intersting .
A week ago, I was pitching a 1/32 j hook ballhead hand tie in white and chart on 4 lb test mono with an unpainted head, the fish were eating it well. Lost it while fumbling to take a picture of a bass that was acting rowdy, fell out of my hand and broke it off as it bounced at my feet and into the river and GONE with my jig !
Yesterday at that same spot , I hooked up with what initially appeared to be a good crappie and GUESS WHAT ! ? Mister mean bass , fooled ya good and I got your jig last week still had my poor lil jig in it's lip this week !
So just remember the ole saying and try not to get fooled twice.
Went in with more rod and 8 lb mono and made us both feel better by removing BOTH jigs from the mean ole bass's lips .....

fairly stupid fish are bass , not terribly difficult to ketch , but most of them seem to have about a 1 month memory from the studies I used to perform on them back in the day .
this fish was duped by larger bait the second go round a week later and stayed clear of my smaller jigs this visit .

That's almost as good as the lady that dropped her ring in the water and then found it in a fish she caught. I never believed that one.
Thanks Ketchn thanked you for this post
