    Default Knowing is Key

Of course remembering as well , but I ain't all that in that department anymore .....
But I did remember they were really high in the water column last week and I thought if they were like that in a boat all over the lake last week.....bet they are that way around the docks too maybe ?
Sure enough my assumption was correct and it was SUPER DUPER tricky to ketch them , but none the less ,several got ketched .
The trick was a very light jig and NO DEEPER than 4 to 5 foot no matter what the water depth was if it exceeded 6 foot deep .
Now HERE is the tricky part , some 63 fish later I only got to feel 2 bites ! One was channel cat and the other a bluegill , the crappie NEVER showed them crappie in hands during this game of lip poker ......
Hit water as deep as 14 and as shallow as 6 and found crappie very willing to sit down on a slightly falling jig , EVERY fish was just there when you raised it lightly .
Now mind you this , my specialty is of course ketchn lots of crappie without the use of a boat or a graph and this is not something you need to try at home
The only soul around was in his they are not biting mode dropping his big jig to 10 feet and looking life less , He would not bend his game or his rod no matter how many I slung .....
He finally took my advice though at around the 50 fish mark to his ONE and took a handtie like mine and used it shallow like me and managed 4 more before I left .
Put a limit in the fish basket and off I went , 6 30 am to 8 30 am and most of the fish were above the 10 inches minimum.
Light twitching it upwards with my off hand 12 inches up from about 5 to 6 foot down and letting it drop very slowly ruined them and their tricky to ketch game , just saying ....
11 to 12 inch fish were average and lost 2 pretty large fish and eventually lost my worn out jig , they ate the paint right off the head , not kidding .
such was yesterday after the rain and in between ,sure was nice outside
