CAYMAN GPS NEW MODEL WITH ANCHOR MODE ON REMOTE

Anyone have any experience with them? I have myself convinced I want something with spotlock.

Looks interesting. I looked into them a few years ago when I was shopping for a trolling motor. My only concern was if a board dies would you be able to get a replacement and how long would it take. That is the reason I went with the Terrova. If it is using your phone as the remote. That would take away from the experience on using the trolling motor. You can use your phone as a remote for the Terrova. Only down side is when the phone goes to sleep it disconnects the app from the trolling motor. You then have to unlock the phone, reestablish communication with the trolling motor and then you can resume control. The hand held remote is much more user friendly.

Dockshootinjack - thank you. If using a phone to control tm, would setting the phone not to sleep, before you started, solve that issue? If I read correctly, for the haswing, using a phone is now optional for spotlock. They now have a button on the fob or keypad, or both?

BuckeyeCrappie - what is “SA” spot lock?

watched a few videos on this tm. One complained salt getting in the board (I don’t fish saltwater), he later commented they refunded his money. A complaint about it popping out of Tavel position when hitting a wave. Seems like the same problems as the brand names.

Yes. You could prevent the phone from going to sleep. That would eat up it's battery pretty quickly. But certainly could be done

I personally would get a Terrova. If you can catch BassPro/Cabelas monthly 10% off, price is not that much different for a tried and true trolling motor.

Buckeyecrappie- no problem! I do that all the time. I’ve been out of the tm market for awhile, didn’t know if that was something new. The boat came with a garmin stryker cv 53. I have a never been used garmin stryker 4, I might put on it as well.

    dockshootinjack - very true.

happycaster58- I’ll look into them, and the sales. With that said, and the supply issues, will stores be running sales this winter? Any new tm’s coming out, thus current ones get marked down?

Terrova is probably MK's most popular model and is usually in stock most places. Black Friday sales or 10% off is your best bet at a better price. Any newer models only affect graph prices as I have seen, not TMs so much.
