Humminbird helix 9 chirp mega si+ gps g4n cost $1549.99 and a Garmin Echomap UHD 93sv cost $699.99 this is a difference of $850.02 questions are 1. is hb that much better. 2. Can you see fish with the Garmin side view. 3. I am running hb899si now will the Garmin be as good of pictures as I have now with my old hb 899. I fish 1 to 13 foot water and deepest 19 foot in my lake. Mostly need to see fish on structure with side view. Thanks in advance for any advice.

I used HB for years before Garmin came out with Livescope. It is hard to beat the new Hp units for display. But I doubt it is worth $850.00 more than the Garmin unit.

Before i spent $1600 for an HB I would consider getting a 93sv plus the livescope unit. It will cost you around $2300.00 but it is much better for fish structure and brush piles.

I concur ... and I'd check with Brian@BBGmarine (via PM) to see what current deals he has going on.

That 699 price for the Garmin does not include transducer. If by some miracle that price does include a transducer then it is a no brainer. But I don’t think you’re gonna find one at that price with a transducer.

This is because the Garmin price is a black friday old model sale price, or head unit only. MSRP for 93sv UHD g56 is $1,199.99
