    Default Roasting in Texas

Seems some schmucks move here from other less than desirable places in the USA and then talk smack about our great state .
Such is the world we live in right, the good news is here in Texas, mother nature is giving them a Roasting in return .....
I of course know full well 111 is rather warm to the touch and even more so under a big straw hat , but none the less ,it is what it is and if you ain't cut out for the heat , maybe you should pack up and go back to where ever you came from , we WON'T miss ya I promise
So off I went in search of a cooler place myself , and low and behold there it WAS ! just a couple minutes from my desination ,,,,BINGO ....the COOL city limits .....
Hit the water to find the fish in super THUMP mode at 6 am sharp and to be very sure it was on FIYA !
Water temp around 85 and up as the sun grew warmer by the minute , fish never quit and even seemed to bite harder the longer I stayed . they were really hot in 6 to 7 foot of water early and were just as good or better in waters around 15 foot deep around 8 am .
Now was it ridiculous you might ask and I would say this about that , if you had 2 rods and put both jigs in the water , the odds were VERY good you would ketch a fish on each rod at the same time !
The boat operator said enough when the live well was more fish than water and we only kept 35 , but to be sure he told me ,he had more than he wanted to filet in the livewell ,early on in this particular episode. 6 am to 9 am and gone we was ....left em biting like wild fire .
Colors used were 5 by me and the grey was good early , but that there Texas bluebird just totally wrecked em once the sun got up good.
So if you cant stand the heat in the Texas , maybe it's best if you rode on ....
    KABOOM is the word ya"ll
p.s. fish were no deeper than the thermocline at around 10 foot deep and the only thing in the boat that struggled was the fish finder losing it's mind beeping ....

Hard to beat Chartreuse, White and Gray color jigs. Those work well here and I imagine everywhere.

the pink and light blue was just about terribly good stuff , one hit it so hard late in the day it knocked they eyes off it bro !
the white ,chart and grey were ok , the grey early , the chart a bit later and the white later after that and the karrot did well , but to be sure nothing went in the water that passed the Texas bluebird , that thing was just the bait they liked the best hands down....

Very nice Ketch. I would be hiding in the AC in weather like that.

You are the man Ketch. I've retreated to the air conditioning when temps approached 100. We aren't quite as hot as you down here in the Piney Woods but we are well over 100 ourselves. Fish will have to wait on me. I like to think of it as giving them a chance to get bigger.
