Twice the lifespan but capacity is related to amp hours. For electronics, they are the bomb! Amped makes great ones.

The three selling points of Lithium are 1) weight savings, 2)can be discharged deeper without hurting the battery and 3) supposedly longer life. Many of them advertise a 10 or more year warranty, read the fine print of the warranty though it starts talking about how many cycles on the battery.

I recently bought a used set of 3 50 amp hr Ionic battery from a Bass fisherman that was fairly local to me. The batteries only had 3 charge cycles on them, they have a phone app that you can see the status of the battery with, which is how the manufacture knows how many cycles are on the battery.

12V Lithium batteries are typically made up of 4 lithium cells (3.2V) in series making a 12.8V battery. They also include a Battery Management System to keep the voltage of the 4 cells balanced to protect the cells. The ones I bought have bluetooth built into that to enable the phone app.

At least two manufactures sponsor one of the Bass fishing forums and offer discounts to members of that board. If you want more info on that send me a PM.

I switched to them on my pontoon due to their size. I have three for my trolling motor, one for livescope. Don't know how well they would work for starting motor as I still have the original battery that came with the pontoon for that.

I'm not sure what you mean by how long they last but the batteries on my trolling motor will run it for 10 hours straight fishing and still have plenty of juice in the battery. My deep cycle H8 batteries would not last that long. I can get 20+ hours on the one I use for my livescope setup. That's display unit and black box.

They are worth the extra cost to me, whether they last five years or ten years as advertised.

Ok thanks for the input. I was just wondering if I could get longer daily run time out of lithium vs regular deep cycle batteries.

I was using the large Wal-mart H8 AGM batteries before. I don't remember if these were considered deep cycles or not. I do know that the 50 Amp lithium batteries will last me 18-20 hours before starting to have less voltage available while the H8 did not last much past 8 hours.

The three H8 batteries would not last much beyond six hours. I've run the trolling motor using 3 50 Amp lithium batteries for two days, over 12 hours, and the battery indicator still showed solid green.

I'm talking about 24' tri-hull pontoon, where I use spot lock constantly.

So for me, they have lasted a lot longer and I would not do without them. On a smaller boat, with less wind resistance and surface area, such as a bass boat, you might not notice the difference as your current batteries might carry you through a normal day's fishing.

I’ve recently switched to all lithiums. My 38v100a trolling motor battery and my 12v100a crank battery are from Skinny Water Marine.
My 12v100a electronics battery is from another company. That battery failed just short of one year and the company gave me a total BS excuse for not standing up for their replacement warranty. After I threatened to melt them down on social media, they offered me the chance to buy a new battery for $200. This is a $1100 battery that they wouldn’t stand behind but would send me a new one for $200?!?! I spent the $200 but won’t deal with them again.
Skinny Water Marine has been wonderful to deal with.
I replaced 3 90+ pound golf cart batteries and a heavy charger with a 70 pound single battery and a 5 pound charger.
I recently had a Skinny Water charger fail shortly after I installed it. I was headed to a tournament at Grenada and they sent a new charger to Grenada to a friend’s house so it would be there when I got there. No send your charger back and we will replace it after we test it. There are still some great customer service companies out there.
My Excel Storm Cat weighs well over 4000 pounds. My Skinny Water Marine 38v100a has allowed me to pull cranks constantly for over 9 hours in normal conditions and over 7 hours in high wind conditions. The Bluetooth readout on the battery allows me to constantly monitor battery status on my i phone.

Best info in Lithium batteries, makers, warantees and longevity, can be researched here. I have had Ionic Lithiums now 3 yrs with no issues with a limited 10 yr warantee and heck of a phone app to monitory usage time and every aspect of each battery. There’s a lot of really good manufactures. Electrical/Wiring/Trolling Motors Search that forum for all kinds of issues and answers on lithium batteries.
