    Default Turbid waters

Summer in the south OFTEN turns water into pea soup , those that live down this way know the water clarity I speak of .
It pays BIG dividends to have a BOLD colored jig and or almost black one on right now .
the bites are just a whisper and light peck in most places at the current water temps. and it is really tough to get a fish to hit hard right now .
the next possibility is lots of contrast , bold and black mixes and light and dark choices , red and chart was really good yesterday and of course the ketchn karrot hurt them good as well .
just a thought if you are after summer crappie in Texas , some of the bites are not EVEN a bite!
was is it stupid good you might ask as we sat in the shade an hour and a half right after lunch at 103 outside and hammered a hundred plus crappie , not really really good for 2 people would be my answer ,but not really really bad either
and note this , the largest fish were in shallow water at around 3 foot deep , the deeper water fish in the 12 foot range were not near as solid sized.
    KABOOM is the word yawl
p.s. AND IF you aint' got scent on the jig you ain't ketchn , that's a fact

Color and scent matter and like you said before can mean the difference between fishing and ketchn.

always prefer ketchn to fishing myself. but there are somedays when relaxed on the toon under the bimini with a good breeze that glad they aren't bothering me a whole lot. Course it may be because I'm napping but don't tell anyone.

Thanks for the tips on colors and fact you were ketchn bigger ones shallow while deeper water held the dinks is enlightening and amazing.

That's one of my biggest concerns is drowsey trolling and someone coming over in my lane.
