    In extreme extended periods of heat they go shallow here too . Low oxygen below thermocline on our shallow lakes if there is one. Many here don't know they go shallow looking for oxygenated water .

    here it is most likely the food sources going shallow and the crappie following them , not positive of it , but we often see tiny fry in the immediate area , quite possibly for them it's like eating popcorn chicken instead of chicken fingers .....if you will ...
