    Default The Double Trouble syndrome

Well as it often happens on the weekend , my wife was along for one of my ketch fests .....
She was not in hammer mode and started blaming her combo and me as I slung fisheez ......
Every time I ripped one she would go on and on about where is my red rod ?......
I told her over and over it is just a case of operator error ....!
It went on for a while .....and then it happened .......
    I finally said ....
Give ME your ding dong dang rod and let me show ya the fish have no clue what rod is in what or who's hand and or how much it costs and or etc. etc .etc ......
Well I thunk you know what , there is a lesson to be taught here and this is a golden opportunity to prove my point and set up a tandem jig rig on her Zebco/ Shakespeare combo and made the cast .....
Here we go ya"ll ,,,,,jigs settle a bit out in open water as I sit on the dock in the shade and I start a slow retrieve....rod loads up nicely and me set the "hooks" and at this point I said a quick thank you to the powers to be as up came my first DOUBLE >>>>
My second cast produced yet ANOTHER and it became my favorite combo JUST LIKE DAT !
I went on to double trouble them crappie like it was scripted for a movie er sumthin and EVEN had me one double that was black bass and a crappie at the same time !
We Sure did laugh it up and I ribbed the fire out of her as they came in 2 at a time ....
EVEN went so far as to lay the rod right down on the edge of the dock as I cranked them jigs back to me before I set the hook .....
Needless to say , my point was well taken and to be sure don't go and EVER think you need an expensive hammer to drive ya some nails ....FOR SURE .....
    KABOOM is the word ....
p.s. the bass managed to toss off the crappie before I could get an image capture , fish were out in the deeper water and wanting it drug back close to the bottom in a methodically slow speed with little to no extra action in the late afternoon .

have that with my wife all the time as she want's to use her lil zebco combo or the casting rod setup I bought her for various gifts but just hates a spinning reel for some reason and when I start cranking them in and she doesn't I hear about it as well. Oh well, I offer my rod and rig but she just wants to whine. is why we havn't gone out together even with all the ketchn I have been doing. course most of the places I walk to she doesn't want to go.

Hopefully now I have the toon back in the water I can take her to places she can get into ketchn.

Mine is a trooper for sure and can out walk me easily , she is very stubborn though and is a must do it her way kinda of woman . We started at that spot and she refused to ketch them with me , she went down the bank a good ways , she managed to ketch a red ear and a bluegill and then slowly worked towards me , the fish slinging where I was , was an every cast thing . At one point when she was closer to me she stopped near a lay down and I said please don't throw it there sweety , you will get hung up ....
First cast right into the tree ....
Got it out by herself and moved a bit closer , told her again please don't try to cast there in that spot , to many trees behind you ,,,,hung in the tree right over her head first cast !
I begged to come sit beside me and she finally gave in and then we hammered side by side for a good while . She has the typical mind of her own thing going on and many times goes off and tries spots she decides are "the best" , I might go on to mention this about that though , sometimes she is right about her picks .....
