    Cool Knots

Just wondering what loop knots you fellows are using, just learned to tie the krypton knot. Seems to be a pretty good loop knot, very easy to handle how big or small you want the loop.
    Thanks

I use the Kreh Non Slip Mono knot. Easy to tie and close to 100% strength. There are a number of tutorials showing how to tie it. There are others but this is a reliable knot.

Only time I really use a loop knot (of any kind) is for the upper jig in a double jig rig. All other situations I use a Improved Clinch knot, as I have been doing for nigh on 60yrs.

I don't know what "name" the loop knot I use is, but I liken it to a "double granny loop knot" .... I run the main line thru the jig eye, make a loop and pass the jig thru it twice, then cinch it down. If I'm concerned with the length of the loop, I'll guide the unformed knot, either away from or towards the jig as I'm tightening the knot down ... to gain or lose a few inches of length in the loop. I leave enough length of tag line to make sure my lower jig is at least 8-10" below the top jig. The lower jig is tied on with a Improved Clinch knot.

Once again sign me up with the Mighty CrappiePappy. I only tie hard knots, it's a pain to adjust my jig each drop but after 50,000+ crappie on my hook I just can't change. I've had 5000 fish years, caught not kept. Louisiana limits are 50 fish, when I was still mad at them I had trips 50 nice fish in the box in 4 hrs. No telling how many throw backs, sometimes 2:1. When you believe in something as much as I believe in a hard knot changing would leave me second guessing the entire trip. Not enjoyable to me.
