1st Let me say thanks for all your post. It helped a lot!! Im a long time bass guy till I moved here 18 years ago. Change to trout, reds, stripers up to everything from the coast, sound and back 30miles inland. Im 68 now an have slowed down a lot, Started chasing Crappie during spawning time last few years but would like to keep going into the summer if I can find them, Im just off a small river that dump in a larger river into the sound.River channel 15'-40' in some curves! 500yard the way the crow fly's I have a cannel off this river goes up in a housing complex an open up to a small lake area,5'-8' of water mostly, It a great area for bass crappie into bream spawning, I have done great with crappie from 1st week in Feb till mid April then the Bream moved it till mid June. Question to all that read is how far will Crappie travel from there spawning area for the summer? Do they still hang in groups? will they stay in deep water where the river current runs the strongest at? Tks to all that post. Retired U.S. Army
no idea here , but they love still waters , probably find them in a river system that has current in back water eddy situations is my thought .
