Nice report. Thanks for taking me along.
Well after a couple of weeks being sidelined by various things, I was able to visit with Mr. Skunk on Saturday evening. Was trying to miss the weekend play boats but failed in that also . Sunday Mr Skunk stayed home. Was a strange morning . Nice weather and variable winds. Tried my first outing with minnows lol. Was hoping to hit a bridge piling that is said to be productive. Well that didn’t work out lol. As I drifted with the current away from the bridge in defeat my minnow on a slip float setup was suddenly attacked the little light action rod was trying to abandon ship when I was able to rescue it from the edge. The little catfish bandit that attacked my minnow felt like a tank on the little rod lol. But I was able to arrest the little bandit. At just 1 1/2 pounds the little blue cat looked very apologetic so I pardoned him/her and sent it on its way.
later a small gill decided to visit and say hi to this old fellow and with a thank you I sent it home also. Last I got real serious with a creature that was determined to not visit with me. But after some negotiation I prevailed and a young skipjack herring came onboard for a quick hello. Was not in the mood to cut bail so again a pardon was in order.
So a three species day ended. The party boats were out in force and my playtime was over. Today I will stay away and remember those too soon gone whose sacrifices give us the the opportunity to to have such a great country. Thanks to my brothers and sisters who served with, before and after me. We all carry the burden of loss for those not with us.

One last to remember the reason for this day by
STONES
Pretty stones in a row one by one
Fathers, mothers, sisters, son
Days of sun, nights of rain
Long forgotten the throes of pain
Their service done, succumbed to fate
Many there soon, some more late
Stones stand there silent, tall
Symbols of lives by those who fall
Fast we go past these forgotten souls
Giving not a thought whose stones are those
Days past more stones do stand
As more souls gather hand in hand
Just take a moment to pause and see
Give some thanks, a tear for these
Remember the stones there one by one,
Fathers, Mothers, Sisters, Sons
Catch all you can when you can!

Thank you for taking us along on the outing. I don't blame you for avoiding the party boats.
