Would like to know the whole story!
Is it possible that some of these folks may have been on a camping trip maybe and just didn’t know the possession limits law?
either way ignorance of the law still isn’t a excuse and it’s obvious that they will pay ! Looks like a fine for over the limit plus $25 bucks per fish that will get fed to the birds once no longer needed for evidence!
I am absolutely 100% in agreement with obeying daily creel limits but a lot of the possession limits if forced are very stiff .
so to just help us be aware here is the law for my state and one of the neighboring states that I fish quite a bit !

in my state it is a violation of Alabama law to transport more than one day’s creel limit of any species of fish beyond the boundaries of this state!
    In Tennessee
law states The total possession limit is twice the daily creel limit and you may not have in possession while afield more than the daily creel limit!

It's a little less harsh in KY, as far as the "Possession Limit". Here, once you "process" the fish they no longer count in your Possession Limit. By "process" it's understood to mean .... cleaned. The Possession Limit is 2X the daily creel limit, after 2 or more days afield.

I just can’t for the life of me figure why they have hunting conservation laws and people if we can’t even enforce our boarders from illegals coming into our country and doing whatever they want,,,,give me a break, we need priority laws before we need guys getting caught catching too many fish that probably die off anyway from overpopulation or pollution…

I’m all about enforcing laws,,, but some laws are just plain stupid and created to collect revenue

A lot of laws are in place just to collect revenue sadly.

and most of the time they are the ones enforced, never the ones that we REALLY need enforced.
