WOW, that is a once in a lifetime fish. Congrats on the beauty.
I was fishing boat houses on Bob Sandlin using a white Beetle Spin for Crappie and was doing pretty good, but all of a sudden something grabbed my lure and took off. I set the hook and I realized it was a big fish, so, I immeadely loosened my drag because I was using 6lb test fluorocarbon line. It took serval minutes to land her because I knew better than to horse her. My son netted it and I grabbed my digital scales. She weighed 12lbs 14oz. I released her and I realized that it was a-once-in-a-lifetime event.

Great catch, awesome release. Crappie gear gets it done in the hands of an experienced angler, eh?
Get the harpoon! What a stud. Good for you for releasing her. Great memories for you and your son. Congratulations.
