    Sometimes skin on filets are nice. Scaleless of course.

    Those Rock-It scalers pummel fish. They definitely take the scales off, but they sort of mangle the fish in my experience.

    Check out the Bicco fish scaler. They eliminate flying scales, take them off like a vacuum, and make the others look like junk. Spearfishing World - Bicco Fish Scaler Demo - Spearfishing Miami - YouTube

    **edit---The guy using the scaler in the video doesn't have much practice with it. It really is fast, easy, and without much mess.
