Unique scaler

I live in race horse country and the local hardware store carries feed and supplies. I spied a little $5 deal sitting on a shelf- Curry Comb. I thought fish scaler. Don’t know why, it just kind of popped in there.

It knocks the slobber off them scales and I mean fast, easy and thorough. I don’t jab myself on the spines as it has a nice handle that keeps my fingers away. Best scaler I have ever used and it will last me a long time. I think you will start eating more whole fish if you get one.

we had one of these at home when I was a kid. Used it on our dog to get out burrs etc.

One of my older buddies had one of those and found it can do too good of a job if you left it out too long or pulled it too fast. He destroyed several baskets of fish finding out those limits. He passed on a few years ago. I bet one of his boys still has it as it was well built.

Those Rock-It scalers pummel fish. They definitely take the scales off, but they sort of mangle the fish in my experience.

**edit---The guy using the scaler in the video doesn't have much practice with it. It really is fast, easy, and without much mess.
