    Default Boat slip rental

We are headed to Beaver Lake for some R&R in a few weeks. I need to rent a boat slip at a nearby Marina. My boat has an 8 ft beam. The only slips available are 20x9 and 20x16. 9 ft seems a little tight and the 16 ft seems really wide, but you take what you can get. Leaning towards the 16 ft wide one since it gives me more than 6" on each side. Does that logic sound correct?

I don't have a boat but I've rented several. Tight spots are most bothersome to me.
If the cost is realistic I would take the wider slip every time.

I'm not an experienced boater but I watched guys guide a boat into the tightest spots, I guess it comes down your comfort level.

the wider slip is the way to go , tight will be tough on the slip navigation and possibly make it a chore to get in and out

IMO That wide slip will be a pain more than the narrow one. I'd say go smaller and use fenders. If not with the huge slip tying it up and getting in and out will be an issue. If you're tying it to one side anyway than who cars if the slip is small. You don't have to go in under power if you don't want but I bet it's in a no wake zone and will not be an issue. The beam is the widest part and I bet the nose of the boat is much much smaller.

“but I bet it’s in a no wake zone”
Hahaha! Almost none existing. At least when I’m out there.
Most marinas are but depends on the clientele.
But I agree. Narrower and use fenders.
