Very nice. My body couldn’t perch that long fer sure
Was the ticket , they were just about a tiny lil bit out there past my max. casting distance with a short little panfish buggy whip rod .
I didn't plan on actually ketchn crappie this trip and the good lord provided me with a huge rock about 4 foot off the shoreline, this gave me that extra lil bit of distance that was needed to hit the spot the crappie were waiting for me to ketch off a "perch".
me provided the knee high rubber swamp boots and then it was as they say game on !
Was it good you might ask yourself , yep every cast to that sweet spot until I got tired of standing all "perched" up on that there big rock . the fish didn't quit , I did , hard on the knees and ankles to stand all "perched" up like a great blue heron these days ....
5 to 6 foot deep with a fixed float and 5 foot rod is not for the faint of heart folks , the casting into the light wind in your face is way past tricky , but in the end someone's got to do it right ....the good news is sometimes the light breeze would lay up for a few minutes and the casting became just a tad bit easier .
was pretty darn fun setting the hook at long range off a "perch" ,with such a terribly whimpy ultralite stick in hand , not a fan of such limber equipment , but it is fun to see the rod tip almost touch that there cork handle on the hook sets .....
so until I find another "perch" '
KABOOM is in fact the who what and where my friends ....just saying
p.s. some occasional accidental fish were in the mix , but most of them were not quite out in that "sweet" spot , they occurred on the inner closer to me "edges" of said area.
sum kawl me tha outlaw ketchn whales
