I bought a green firewater marine light last year but haven’t used it yet. Looking forward to it this year.

I have a large green one I built. A smaller green one I bought. I actually prefer the floating white lights personally

I often wonder to myself if the green really works better than the regular ole white light.
We used to hammer fish under floating headlights attached to a car battery under schools of shad so thick you could almost walk over them .That said I got no clue what green lights are in my garage ,but I do have 2 of them , one small one and one big one and neither been used in several years , my bad ....

We use to use the floating headlight when i was a very young kid but i haven't fished with a light since. Will they still attract bugs even though they're submerged?

The thing is this about that , led lights put off the wrong spectrum light to attract bugs and this in turn creates a similar situation with the water bugs too in my opinion .
the first green lights we used way back before anyone knew they existed did just great and possibly even better than the white light , but along came the led thing and the various varieties of other artificial light and in some spots I don't even see one baitfish under the green lights , just saying
