The old man always says believe half of what ya see and none of what ya hear.
So we have this here local fella , been chasing crappie a while , actually "guides" people for $ and has a fair amount of followers , own youtube channel and comes across as knowledgeable and sharing .
Do know he gets lots of "tips" from the actual local pro fellas on the downlow inside scoop type a thing, to keep him on fish basically is what I can see pretty clearly .
Don't really know him in person , but he is liked in the crappie community locally . Likes to give his 2.1 cents if a novice asks a question on various social media platforms .
So yesterday the question on a crappie page from one who apparently knows very little about crappie ketchn was this ......
"What will this 50 degree drop in temperature in less than 12 hours with this reverse wind and hard frontal push do to the bite "?
yeppers here it comes .....
In what appears to be a very well educated response he goes on to say this about that ....
" No worries it shouldn't change the bite much this fast , the water didn't have time to get colder yet " !
Of course he showed his hand to anyone that does have a clue , but in the end imagine all those that think that actually might be the case .
KABOOM is the word for sure
p.s. the moral of this story is this , careful with what you think is the truth and who you take advice from on the social media how to ketch a crappie feeds ....
tip of the week ....

Good post! You could highlight from p.s to social media and apply it to everything, eh?

Ah, what are ya going to do, ketch? As you say, be careful of what you hear. BTW, that was a pretty to the point question that guy asked….just wondering if there was a test being given.

What exactly will happen to the bite? I still have alot to learn about crappie ketchn. I'm in Southeast Alabama and was planning on going Sunday but the weather is supposed to turn off cold. I'd rather know before I go in this case especially when you getting 10 1/2 miles to the gallon pulling a boat and it's an hour and 15 minute drive to the lake LOL.If It's going to turn off the bite and send the fish into deeper water, might be one of those weekends to do honeydoos.

The bite will almost always slack way up right behind a front. In my area when I have North or North East wind they are harder to catch.
I proved what I already know just yesterday…. Only caught 6 fish ( after cold front ) The day before the front I caught 36 fish Over a 4 hr. Stretch both days.
