    Default Help finding a jig

Looking for someone who makes a jig with salt water plastic tuffer than the Bobby Garlan but in same color as chartreuse-black pepper or red pepper. Crappie in my lake or on this color but are very shallow and I'm using a 1/48th oz. bobby garland jig head with a small hook probaly a #6 or #8 not sure, just know it's tearing jigs up bad. I know I've seen posts of people who pour that type of plastic just can't remember who? Doesn't have to be the baby shad shape a tadpole whould be fine just need the color and tuffer plastic. Scott

Contact Steve with Limits Tackle. He uses some heavy duty plastics but with good action on his baits. I think you could find something that would work for you.

you need to try a different jig head the thin wire of the hook cuts right through the bait

I agree with SD. Limits tackle plastic is the toughest most durable I’ve ever seen.

I agree on the jig head tearing up the bodies as I've been using the pico scope eye which has a wire keeper instead of lead coller and that works much better but I haven't found any in a 1/48 oz.. I've seen a post of a guy that makes his own using a no coller jig but my eye site is not good enough to do that. Any body know of a small jig head with wire keeper? Scott

    Another vote for Bonehead
Their “ stump bugs “ are the longest lasting but they have the minnow shaped plastics too

I am a little bias but Slabanator jigs are tuffer than bobby garland. I have not ever use salt water plastics. I don't know anybody that uses it on crappie jigs. From what I have seen the harder the plastic the harder it is to get 2 color baits to fuse together, just something to keep in mind. In my opinion with that small of a hook it is very easy to rip the jig taking the hook out or it is for me. That is one of the reasons I don't use small hooks...

I may not me naming it right, thought it was called salt water plastics but have used different lures over the years that were made of a tuffer plastic. Going to try some of the one's mentioned but don't see the color I'm looking for on any of the mentioned websites. It's a translucent chartresue if your'e familiar with the B.G. chartreuse black or red pepper you know what I mean. Scott
