The main top (white part) separates from the rest to let you clean the liner. Maybe just take that off and use a dip-net?
I have this 1/2 gallon Gatorade water cooler, I'll see if I can post a picture. Well the cap fell off when stored for the winter and think my mom tossed it. So I was thinking of making a little minnow bucket out of it, I have a big one but here in N.Y. You need the clean bait sticker on the bucket and it's a pain hauling my big 2-3 gallon one.
I was going to pick up a battery powered bubbler to keep them alive for the day, the cooler stays pretty cool. The main problem is getting a minnow out, the screw on lid has always been a pain. I could tip them out the spout you drink from but loose a lot of water.
So I need to think of some way to grab a minnow from the 1" hole. So any ideas?

[QUOTE=shipahoy41;4219597]I can see how that concept idea has a lot of potential. Perhaps a jig saw to cut a flap big enough for a small net. Attach the flap with a small piano hinge.

neat concept, you can get a battery operated bubble box, cut a hole in the lid and replace it with something else (wood, plastic, old white cutting board) or hinge the old piece back in.

A fella could make himself a friction fit lid and eliminate the screw on on all together

And my thought was to scuff both sides of where the hinge needs to go and silicone it onto place. Make sure it’s clean and don’t fool with it while it cures and it just might work better and cleaner than screws.
