    Default The walk of Shame

There are times when you just guess and hope for the best . Such was the case yesterday , heard tell the fish were up in a creek I have visited a few times .
My bud said "take me there , never been there " . Told him this about that , bluebird days in there aren't typically the best, but sometimes it don't matter , said sometimes .....
So we hit the brush and walked the creek a bit , first stop first cast ....FLOAT bye bye ....
Score ONE for the home team , missed it like a big dog ......
Next time it went see ya , went to the visiting team and I told him this about that, see there my friend , they ARE in here ......
AND up came a small sandbass ...................
Well we walked and walked and the more we casted the more obvious it became. The crappie left the creek as they often do in there about this time of year and were replaced with darn sand bass and yellow bass !
We did managed to ketch 2 small crappie though WAY down stream and hammered the lips of mostly small sandbass in route .
So after about 50 fish we headed back to work with our tails tucked on the walk of shame . Forgive me for such sad news if you will , but as of yesterday it seems the creek bite is a next year thing unless you just like to ketch them stupid striped fish.
I will try to get back on some crappie hopefully later this week , but as of now I will just hold my head down with that sad look until that time comes .
The good news is my buddy thunk it was really fun and was all smiles and to be honest they were biting really well and a few of the larger specimens really pulled like they meant it .
stay tuned for some future KABOOM , yesterday was not , my bad though for not wearing any crappie.com lucky gear ....
went in bare and came out sad ....there ya have it
the truth can be stranger than fiction don't ya know

Seems like plenty of action even if it is not the intended target

Good day on the creek even though you didn’t have much Slab success. I too would have enjoyed your day.

I would have killed for a few nibbles my last outing on Monday. Just a lot of wind, line-watching, and bobbers floating too high on the water. No disappearing floats. Good times
