Default Lews laser rod at Wal-Mart

Was in Wal-Mart today and was looking at a lews laser 5'6" ul rod , about $32 and it seemed really nice for the money. Fast action but had good bend in the hole rod. Anyone have one of these, I was going to get a Shakespeare 5'6" but like to see what you all think. Put a fhlueger President 20 next to it and looked like it would be a nice combo, it was in a clam shell so couldn't check the balance.

Lew's makes a good rod. Those Shakespeares are pretty good too for the money.

Berkley Lightning rods are in that price range too, and I'm a pretty big fan of those.

Since I was thinking of running braid the fast tip on the lews maybe nice, it has a really nice bend to. The Ozark trail rod was pretty nice to but seemed more for finesse bass then panfish.

I have one Lew's rods. It does a great job. I have a couple of different generations of the Shakespeare rods. They are super tough and cheap. If you borrow a rod in my boat it will likely be one of thw Shakespeare Micro series rods

Here is a thread on it. Ketchn broke his but he is pretty rough on things. I have mine and it’s a good combo but I do prefer a little stiffer rod myself.

Those Micro Series at Walmart are hard to beat for around $17. If I'm bobber fishing w/ minnows that's usually what I'm using.
