    Default I’ve got an idea!

Ok, comments and suggestions are welcomed!

I’ve got a 2021 Tracker 175TF, but want to put a “live system” on it! Here’s my idea that I want comments and suggestions on!

I don’t like feeling cramped up fishing so I want to put a “scope” on the port side of boat! Putting a graph on front and rear of boat that we both can see! Use an old trolling motor with remote as the pole, controlled by 1 person on the boat! My desired power source will be dewalt the dewalt system! I already have the adapters for this!

I can build or have built a bracket to mount TM body on that I would like to make it so it can be pulled into the boat while traveling and a couple of motions/pins put in or take out of water using the versa trac system already on the boat!

Comments are much appreciated and welcomed! Will it work, or am I crazy?

I had it rigged up this way for a while, since my console graph was the only one capable of running it.

My boat doesn't have versatrack or anything like that in it. So I just popped a few rivnuts in the gunnel and built a small pole mount with a wing bolt to attach it. I had 4 places along the starboard side that I could mount the pole, although I used the one right beside the console 90% of the time.

It worked fine. Occasionally I would be in a situation that made it difficult to fish with the starboard side facing whatever it was I wanted to fish. Wind made it even tougher since the boat tends to swing side to side.

I think it is best mounted on the front since you have the most control over the bow with the trolling motor up there, and you can fish a much wider area than on just one side.

I have an Alumacraft with built in track system. I mounted my Mega-360 to an Alumatrack bracket. To deploy, I attach the bracket, to retrieve I remove the bracket and store it in my front net. I think this is similar to your idea.

Edited to add: Retain the TM base and use it for stow and deploy your live system. use the track system to mount the TM/Live system to the boat. Remove teh TM head and they become very light. I plan on doing the same thing. My Powerdrive is foot peddle only, but I may look for a IPilot version for the navigation feature- always points to where I want it to point, even if the boat is swinging in the wind.
Remember, the transducer can see further than your boat is long. If you have the transom space, you could mount the TM on the back of the boat. Either on teh rear deck, or a special bracket on the gunnel. It doesn't have to be on teh bow.

I have a buddy who uses a 2nd TM for his Live Scope transducer. He guides out of a pontoon, so bow space isn't an issue.
Your on the right track and I'd love to see the first version, and second version.
