You can't see it in the pics but trust me there is a black stripe running down the back of those crappie...those are black nose crappie. Ninety nine percent of the crappie that come out of the location I am fishing in the pic will be black nose. I consider a black nose crappie to be one that has a black stripe running down its back. No one around here ever bothers to take a pic of the back of the crappie as black nose are very prevalent in several of the lakes here....it's just another crappie...except, for whatever the reason they will be big fish.

Man those are some nice crappies, Randy. Yeah, there was some pretty good scarring on a few of those fish. They did look like they took a beating.

Jack .... While I'm sure I have caught Blacknose dock shooting at Watts Bar, I really don't remember doing so .... What I do remember is catching them around a bridge & off submerged trees.

I've "heard" that Center Hill Crappie are (were??) a high percentage of Blacknose Crappie, but just never ventured that far to check it out. Alphahawk did & reported on it a couple years back : https://www.crappie.com/crappie/main...-lake-crappie/

The 4 I have caught have all been dock shooting. Makes sense why I have not seen more if they prefer deeper water structures. These came from under a marina in 6 feet of water

Should have said I haven't seen him catch any that wasn't blacknose. That is all he has caught
