Default Thankful for my many blessings

We lightly smoked a turkey and finished it in the oven yesterday .
I hit the local dock to ketch a few crappie while it marinated .
The wife ran the dog at the corp. park while i pursued said fisheez .
and My daughetr found a real nice fossil too.
Made ready my hunting gear later.
Off we travel in a few to visit with family .
Mighty Thankful is me for sure .
AND KABOOM is the word .
She said the 3 bucks she saw there ,at the corp. park were to fast to capture on film and called the lead buck " A Monster" over and over , The fish were in the all sizes and species ranges and the bite was tricky for sure .
Might even get a chance to visit that there trophy pond H visited last week in the next couple of days
Happy thanksgiving to all and YES I will be giving away a few new jigs and stickers and juice >>>>>>
over in the giveaway section staring today .

Nice photos and a pretty colored cat. Do the broken stripes on that fish mean that it is a hybrid? Just curious.

Happy Thanksgiving! I am also thinking of all the blessings bestowed on me. The ham is in the crockpot. My daughters live close and will be over this afternoon. Safe travels to all that hit the road this holiday.

Broken lines above the anal fin indicate it is most likely a pure yellow bass , but they are known to hybrize naturally with white bass as well.
Not fun to hold or release , them gill cutters is like razor blades

I like your brining method, and like more a little smoke on the bird first. I rig cook out of Brownsville taught me to smoke my briskets first then finish in the oven to cook the flavor in. I never saw that outside of Texas back in the day but now the words out.
The Pearl River is the state boundary between Louisiana & Mississippi, in that river - west, I've caught catfish with the spots. They eat the best to me. But East of the Pearl I have never caught one with the spots. Wonder what gives?

not all channel cats have spots , not sure why , but it is a fact ,and some is freckled up really good .
the 1 hour of pecan smoke and the marinating of said bird along with the large amounts of injected garlic and butter .....
topped by more than needed basting made the bird just about stupid good table fare my friend ....
got home 3 days later and can still smell that linger of pecan and juicy turkey ......mmmm
