Here is Crestliner08's obituary I thought I'd share. We thank him for his participation here on crappie.com. It was a pleasure to have him in our online lives. We especially thank him for his service to our country. He will be missed.
Richard Daniel Steinbock passed away on Monday, November 9, 2021 peacefully at home surrounded by his family at the age of 76. Richard was born on February 12, 1945 in Holyoke MA, the son of the late William R. and Mabel (Dupré) Steinbock. He was raised and educated in Holyoke MA. He attended Holyoke Community College.
Richard was honorably discharged from the US Navy after serving as a 193 Radio Operator on the USS Shelton during the Vietnam War. He earned a National Defense Service Medal, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, and Vietnam Service Medal with two Bronze Stars. He retired from a successful career in manufacturing management.
Richard was an avid outdoorsman. In his younger years, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, target shooting, and camping.
He spent much of his retirement time fishing on Quabbin reservoir with his fishing buddy Walter, who he had known since high school. He was a member of and ran the newsletter for the Easthampton Rod and Gun club for several years. He enjoyed participating in on-line fishing forums and made friends with many fellow fishermen. He loved his grandchildren and they loved him, their Pepé, especially when he took them fishing.

We are praying that Jesus will comfort the family during this difficult time. To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. This song helped me cope during the recent death of a loved one. It simple says "I JUST STOPPED BY ON MY WAY HOME." I pray it comforts people on this forum also. The second video is "I SHALL WEAR A CROWN" Please listen to the entire songs. It is about three minutes each. You will be blessed.

May God be with you. Keep CALM and STAY ANCHORED with your faith.
Sad news. I have been worried for a while now about Rich. His posts were a driving force on the New England States forum. I always enjoyed reading about Rich and Walt's fishing adventures. There have been no posts by him for quite some time. I never met the man but he will be missed.
He will be missed, prayers for the family and friends
