Sure wish I knew how you were getting them to bite. I'm finding plenty of suspended fish but it is almost impossible to get them to bite. Richard and I even tried minnows Monday afternoon and they still refused to bite.
heard tell some other friends you know did well over the weekend out at that spot ,used minners and jigs and left with 38 large , said about a third were in the close to 2 range , sure wish your boat wasn't where it is , we need to take it for a trip soon , let me get with H and figure out the how and when .

it is about the hottest of bites over there certain times of the year , it is to bad they will go into a winter lock jaw mode soon ,once the water drops to around 50 it is over , they just flat out won't cooperate in deep winter over there .
pretty well known to save your gas money on that spot come real cold water .

this is a fact , livescopers are realizing what I knew long ago about them being down there and just in some kind of catatonic mode .
when we see them under shad in open water at that spot in the dead of winter they are in that what I suspect to be so full of food and lethargic from the cold mode that they are just not going to readily cooperate .
we did sort of spider rig them one time years ago though , minnows and about 10 to 12 foot deep in 25 foot of water and just ease around looking for schools of bait with 2 or 3 fish under them . 2 rods each in holders and one in hand and mostly never knew it was bite until they swallowed the offering .
made for a long day to keep 12 nice ones and never did it again ......

Some of them on the docks in dead of winter are that way. Can't feel the bite. The line just doesn't feel like it should. Ease the rod up and you can feel the weight of the fish.

them fish even get really tough on the docks over there , and they are brushed up fishing docks made just to ketch off of , sometimes it seems they are not even down there to me , not sure as it is often just me and a jig against them ,but it sometimes occurs to me they just ain't down there at all ....

Here in the Buckeye it’s too cold over winter so I hibernate just like the fish. Usually I am chasing whitetails this time of year but this year I am watching them chase does all over our yard. John Wayne westerns are great in the fall/winter!
