Default any thoughts on the Legalis

I have been fishing all summer for crappie, can't say i have caught many, but went thru a few reels and there were a few that get great reviews and i have tried a few and some were sticky when cranking weird feeling, so they went in the so so reel box. one reel that has really stood out and was rather impressive was the Daiwa Legalis 2500, curious if anyone else likes their Legalis. going to order 2 more, any comments on a reel as smooth and light as the 2500 Legalis for 70 bucks
i also have the pflueger presidents 25 and 30 series, Daiwa Fuego 2500 and regals. i like the legalis over the fuego

was not impressed with the Mitchell 308 and the Sedona 2500

In that price point I’ve bought two that I’m using and like a lot. The newer Daiwa regal LT in 2500 and 1000 and the Shimano Sahara in 3000. The regal shave 10 bearings and get comments from everyone that uses them. I use the Sahara’s in salt and have no issues with them either but they have less bearings. Also have a daiwa BG that’s more expensive but is also easy to use and smooth and also mag sealed against water intrusion into the gearbox. I have heard good about the legalis but never handled one. Good luck in your search.

I agree the Daiwa regal is a good reel. I own 3 now. Very smooth and good drag.

Daiwa Regal LT 1000, they have the slower gear ratio as well.

    hi ketchn
i will look into the Sahara reel, i have to say i hope it's not in the same category as the Sedona. the other day i was fishing and reeling my jig in slow, this is where the Sedona fails, sort of sticky when reeling slow, sort of gunshy on the shimano reels at the moment. i will check it out.
