Yup dead sticking with 10’ rod is how I mostly fish. Sometimes letting pendulum back to them.

Have it on my trolling motor and point my nose to the wind. That’s how I’ve always fished in the wind.

Yep, like Dr. Nip said, keep nose into the wind and control the boat. As long as waves aren’t so big that it’s taking the trolling motor out of the water I can get on them and catch them still. Spot Lock isn’t going to really let you excel with Livescope no matter what the wind is like. Learn to control the boat without it. A big thing too though in windy conditions is know where and when to get out of the wind and find fish in more protected areas.

These were caught in about 15mph winds on KY/Barkley Thursday. Anyone that’s been on these lakes know what that kind of wind does.

You ever have one not bite holding it on their nose?

It’s all what you get used to.
In Oklahoma if we didn’t fish in 20 mph or more, we would only get to fish in August.

I let the fish tell me what they want. Sometimes they tell me to go home too. Big grin....

You will have some just follow if you take it away slow . Seen some on bottom refuse to move . One day this week I took an older friend . We saw a big fish sitting in 8' of water right on bottom . I told him to get it . We put bait over it and past it about 10 times . It never moved . He said it must not be a Crappie . Next drop it kicked it's tail and smacked his tube jig . They won't move sometimes but once they see it you will see a reaction . Nothing guarentees a bite . You can't force feed them no more than you make make a horse drink unless it wants to .

Here fish have been chased so much the wind slapping the boat runs them off . Try going with the wind but drag wind sock or 5 gallon buckets to slow you down . I also use a bigger/heavier jig to get it on them faster . Don't have as much time moving fast but less boat slap to spook fish .

Yeah I’m going to drop on them so many times until I keep a moving. Only going beg them to bite so much until I look for active fish. Now bigger fish I’ll beg more than smaller fish! Lol
