On the reel note, I recently was in the market for two more Pflueger Presidential reels but were sold out everywhere. So I took a chance and bought a Piscifun Honor XT and a Piscifun Carbon. Both a very similar with one being slightly less in weight and different color. Never thought I’d find a better reel than the presidential but I did. It’s actually feels smoother to me and both have 10+1 stainless steel ball bearing. Can be had for $50 and $60 off amazon. Just throwing out there if anyone is having problems getting a reel due to the supply issue.

While I don't do much "vertical jigging", I'd think the same factors are as relevant as they would be for a casting outfit.
Many guys can't believe we use baitcasters for our 13' rods . I like longer rods like the Huckabee Trident but the baitcaster balances the long rod . Livescope has shown in shallow water we fish staying farther back spooks less fish .

My first vertical jigging rods were the ACC 10' rear seat (like you mentioned). Took a little time to get used to the rear seat but love it now. Also have a couple of ACC 12' but I like the 10' better (at least right now). Using basic casting reels on the 12' rods with 10# braid.
