I once hit a skunk on a rural road at night, unavoidable collision. I don't think I was going fast but he had time to release his spray before his demise (actually I think it's released on contact).
I had 30 miles yet to get home and the odor became pungent but not overwhelming.
I chose to leave the car outside rather than in the attached garage and I'm glad I did.
The odor gradually subsided over the next few days, I had to drive that car 50 miles to work.
The Great Dane grabbed one. It sprayed, got her in the face ,mouth and chest. Backing soda , peroxide, and Dawn dish washing liquid and she was good as new. Me after giving her a bath. Not so much. I could smell it on my hands for a few days.

QUESTION. West central Texas. Been catching good crappie but over last two weeks bout 15 to 20 percent have been on the skinny side. Just asking
Kitchen. Any idea on why our crappie here in west central Texas are skinny bout 20 percent of the time. Is it the time of year or competition from whites or what. I am stumpped
My old GSP only pointed 2 things without his stub wagging....quail and skunks. He grabbed one and it sprayed him in the mouth. He had green goo coming out his nose, eyes, and mouth. He was trying to find me, I was running away, and my dad was laughing his arse off. The next year same waterway his kennelmate got it. 100 yards up he was on point on a covey of quail puking.
Adds new meaning to the phrase "getting skunked".

not sure , likely not enough calories to go around ? might need serious thinning to match the food source ?
would be my first guess , some fish though run thin , bridgeport blacks dont get football thick like east Texas fish .
and ray roberts is known for "skinny" fish too ....?
the list goes on but in the end its likely like stated , just not enough mass quantities of food to go around....cone head thing right ?
