I never leave the ramp without them! I fish jigs too. But there are days that those minnows have saved me.i don't understand the need to eliminate them.

What's this minnow you guys speak of?
They now cost 33 cents each at my marina. If I was keeping crappie on every trip it would be worth it. But since I release over 90% of what I catch I will stick with jigs.

Any day I'm fishing is a good day, regardless of what I catch.

Great read in this thread. For me I think you should use the techniques you are comfortable with, have confidence in and enjoy using. I like catching crappie using whichever method they want that day. Good .

Bought in bulk and kept in a stock tank when the weather is suitable. They can be not as expensive

EZ, your not cheap, you just spend the money else where. Probably on the pontoon, your working on. And since there will be others fishing on it, if they need to have minnows, they can bring their own.

Considering the cost of boat ownership, and the expense of a trip. Certainly they can bring their own minnows
