My wife would tell me to quit playing and start fishing when I was using jigs while she was catching with minnows. She would tell me crappie eat meat, not metal. She would only use live minnows and always out caught me.

Given my catch record this year I am almost ready to dig out the minnow bucket and start carrying them with me again.

Here’s a suggestion, start with jigs only during the spawn and your confidence will be so high you’ll never worry about minners after that.

I don't use minnows too often because I would have to drive so far out of my way. I bought a casting net and when those threadfin
shad come so close to the boat I catch all I want to use. I do use plastic mostly.

Explain to her that Kevin VanDam has won over $6 million feeding bass plastic and metal.

Jig under a float at that time with some Slabsauce is very productive

Well……. Thanks for all the input and advise guys/gals.
I’m gonna get after them in the morning.
I have 4-BnM 14 footers rigged as usual with double minnow rigs.
2-BnM 14 footers rigged with 2- 1/32 jig heads and ready for a variety of plastics.
2-12 foot ACC Jig poles with hand ties
1-10 BnM Brushcutter jig pole with hand tied jig
1-8 foot ACC also with hand tie jig
Gonna try to avoid using minnows as long as I can and see how it goes.
    Thanks again
    Chuck
