I think you're looking at it the wrong way. The front of the jig is what you see on live scope if you cast and retrieve it. The jig would have to be turned sideways for the flat side to show up on live scope. Just a marketing idea, nothing more.

as with everything in the world of "sonar" and "radar" it has most to do with what reflects back . less profile equals less reflection ,more profile equals more reflection .
whatever the direction of the original pulse the image that reflects back is the side facing the sending unit .
dad was a radar tech. in the navy and to be sure the principals remain the same as he taught me .
adjusting your individual unit is likely the best way to fine tune your images and most of the time a larger bait will send back a better image ,as long as the target is solid it will reflect back , Sonogram is still just high end sonar and live scope is still just a Sonogram from what my feeble mind can get out of this technology

I have no problem picking up a #5 split shot on LiveScope on my line. There are plenty of videos available online that show what settings others use. Also keep in mind that if you are close to the transducer that the beam isn't all that wide - you may have to turn the transducer to see your jig.

I run my TVG off unless deep water, noise rejection medium, gain around 60 and color gain around 84. Makes my 1/16oz as well as small weight above glow. Bumping that color gain up is what helps me the most seeing jig.

How far out we talking? I couldnt tell you what I run on settings as I usually mess them up trying to change forward range and depth range lol, that said, usually not much trouble seeing a 1/16th to 25ft.

Finding something worth pitching it to.... well....

I scan water around 40-50’ and then back off to 20-25’ to fish it.

I'm still playing and practicing with mine but the braided line and a small split shot help me recognize the jig better.

I have no trouble seeing my 1/16oz ballhead jighead/plastics, double jig rig, or sinker/minner on 6# mono.

TVG is off - noise rejection is Med - Gain is 77 - scan distance is 55ft to pick up fish/cover, then dropped back to 25ft to cast/flip to target. I use that distance to "scan" for new cover, but if I already know it's there or I have a waypoint on my Hook 7, then I'll leave my scan distance at 25ft.

How far above the jig do you place the split shot? How does braided line help? You see the line on LS?

Sorry for all the questions, I just am excited about this technology and want to be able to do it at a high level.

Braid will show up much better than mono. Sometimes mine looks like a piece of rope where mono is hard to pick up. I run my weight about a foot above jig.
