Fake News yet again !

A training jet crashed in a neighborhood the other day . The news said it was north of a freeway and dropped a pin on the spot . They did it because they are likely really dumb and or on purpose misleading the general public .
So in my lunch break travels I turn off that freeway close to where it all took place "according" to the news ,only SOUTH of that freeway ! As I approach my last few blocks to my desired location there in front of me blocking the road is some kind of traffic jam ?
I close in on the spot and there are several really strange looking white SUVs with no logo and flashing lights on them . The traffic is slow as heck and when I get to where all the different law enforcement vehicles there are, there sits a monster crane and an 18 wheeler wrecker and yellow tape all over the place and a huge crowd .
Drive on thru and think what in the heck was all that about ? Walked up to my spot and began my blind man episode once again . First drop jig sliding by a pole in the water in 6 feet of water and the line lays up . Fish one decent black crappie , slide my jig past the same pole in repeat fashion and fish 2 is a bit larger white crappie and also lays up the line .
Did my thing for an hour and managed 32 crappie , one really big fat white crappie came up from a tight spot at one point and I put my jig right back there and repeated the same presentation . Next one up was 3 inches long , and they say big crappie NEVER stay with the baby crappie right .....
limits tackle bright as the sun got it done and down the road I went digesting the "fake news" and thinking that if that jet went down just about an 1/8 of a mile sooner I would have had a very sad story to tell about my private dock area .
A few blocks after the crash site is where I play some days , the moral of the story is just this , never mind a hard norther blowing thru and or some fake news and NEVER let the things that might make you not go hit the water effect your agenda to ketch fish .
And the fish all went free to do what they "were" doing before I got there

I know those salt water fish will use plane wreakage as structure. I am sure those crappie would have too when everything settled down. Great looking catches as always

there are some that say right off the run way on the other end of the lake there are planes on the bottom , not sure about that as I never saw one on any of the graphs we used at that location , but there is a bridge sitting in 10 feet of water with a creek channel under it on a hump out in the open water that is REALLY good for large crappie .

Glad your day wasn't interrupted and you were able to get on them. There is a WWII bomber somewhere in Badin Lake. Sort of a mystery and local legend nowadays. It has never been found although some divers think they found it.

Find all kinds of things in the water. Found a news paper machine and a drink machine dumped at the lake I fished growing up
