The Slingshot Episode

Now mind you not a casting technique as the title might lead you to think . It was more of a slingshot Ketchn and mini around the lake on the tube first for grins and then a little resting in the shade later .
Now of course I went in with ONLY tubing in mind , but Ez gave me "that look " with a grin when he said you wanna ketch a few afterwards ?
I told him ,yeah sure but oh darn it Ez ,we ain't got no rods in the boat .....
Ez says oh yes we do ,open the long box behind the captains chair ,there are several in there .
He cornered the market on a bunch of Zebco slingshot combos on a clearance rack for 7 bucks each and had a boat full of them in that compartment ......
Had them all loaded with heavy braid , now mind you it ain't like they are my go to set up ,but when in Rome don't ya know .....
No trolling motor and not much of a graph led us to a bridge , NO DICE , the simple graph said not here today ....
Ez said well we could go to another spot full of little ones and I said sure bro , a few little ones beats nada by a good mile .
Rolled up , the graph looked a bit fishy to me ,Ez depth charged em with a big mushroom anchor and as well know that will run off all the fish ....right ?
Dropped a limits tackle small straight tail 1.25 in a pearl color down to about 10 to 12 foot in 14 to 15 foot of water and K A B O O O O M !
Bought jerked the slingshot right out of my unsuspecting hand I tell ya !
Fish count was nice and there were a good number of solid ones in the mix
Hit em for about an hour and let em all go free , good times FOR SURE !
Lots of the fish were in the NOT so soft mode and bashed the daylights out of the jigs !
Sure did enjoy it , thanks so much Ez , that was some serious good fun for sure my friend !
It appeared that a few of them fish escaped other anglers and so was the situation with us , we lost a large number of fish on the surface too ....
I opted for the purple combo on the Zebco Slingshot combo and Ez went with a red one , just saying ....

NOT hard enough for sure ,second go around I sampled the lake water with my face and lungs ....
came up from that rough ride going ok , thanks so much , I AM OFFICIALLY DONE having FUN ......

Ketchn's wife and daughter didn't have much of a problem staying on the tube. I won't comment on how many times Ketchn hit the water. Fun part of the day was when his daughter told him it was harder when you get old.

The label on the tube says it all! Wow. Mini looked like she was having a ball! What a great afternoon!
