All I do is troll. .8-1mph usually 2 jigs. use 2@ 1/16 about 8', 1/16 and 1/8 about 12,' 2@ 1/8 about 15' Lighter on top. I watch to see if am catching on top jig or bottom....when catching on both...bingo.
This thread reminds me I need to work on my trolling skills

Been long lining since about 1979/1980, but usually has been in water say 15' and less. Mostly in 6'-10' water and I use 1/32 Oz under-spins going .4 to .8 MPH. Here after they go deeper it's mostly fishing brush piles so my long lining is Spring and Fall. When the Hydrilla doing well is also when I do the best, lol! Love fishing that stuff!

I pull double 1/32 pony heads with willow blades. They can run shallow to fairly deep using added weight. I have 4 split shots that I can adjust weight with. I use bb, 3/0, 1/16 & 1/8. I figure I can run the speed I want .7-1.2 and adjust depth with weight. That way I only have to pour 1 size for jigheads. I’m not saying it’s the best way but it’s what I prefer.

6lb mono 1/16oz, 100ish ft of line (good cast and pulling a little more off), 0.85ish and I'll start bumping bottom around 11-12ft
